About CECAPI

CECAPI is the European co-ordinating Committee representing the Associations of Manufacturers of Electrical Installation Equipment within member states of the European Union. CECAPI was established in 1967. Common activities are organised according to the rules of the Statutes and By laws. The organisation of CECAPI consists of the Presidents' Conference and of a General Secretariat. The President and the Secretary General are appointed every second year and the mandate is renewable once. A permanent office, based in Brussels was established in July 1999. The Presidents' conference is usually called twice a year. The work is carried out by working groups which meet regularly. The following working groups are currently active:

Members

All National Associations of Electrical Installation Equipment Manufacturers (NA's) within the EU and other European countries, have the right to request membership of CECAPI. Where more than one National Association is in membership of CECAPI they will form one National delegation. Present Members are :

Scope, list of products

CECAPI is the European Committee of Electrical Installation Equipment Manufacturers. The following products fall within CECAPI scope:
  • Components for electrical installations/appliances, such as: plugs, sockets, (also for industrial use) boxes, installation switches (electromechanical and electronic), time switches, connecting devices, fuses;
  • Cable management systems;
  • Home and Building Electronic Systems Products, KNX;
  • Intercom and Videointercom;
  • Circuit breakers, residual current devices for domestic and commercial use;
  • Appliance couplers, cable reels, cord sets;
  • Switches for appliances;
  • Surge protecting devices;
  • Distribution panels.

CECAPI is member of Orgalime (European Association of Metalworking, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
